Among Wānaka's many gems, Roys Peak stands out as a must-do hike, offering panoramic views that seem to stretch to infinity. I had seen pictures of this place many times and I was determined to experience it firsthand, regardless of the early hour we would need to get up.

Home to New Zealand tallest peak (at 3,724 meters) Aoraki in the Mount Cook National Park, was our first stop for this trip. With its towering snow-capped mountains, azure glacial lakes, and rugged alpine terrain it didn’t disappoint.
